Not to steop on the hotel gurus toes, who do a wonderful job findinf the best rates for everyone, but I just did a little experiment on thes websites, and my hotels website.
For a standard room, King size bed, Travelocity, Orbitz, Booking.com and Expedia were all $20.00 more than what our website was selling. Priceline was $5.00 more.
I%26#39;m not saying this is true all the time, but be sure an no matter where you stay, and you are looking for the best deal, don%26#39;t just stick with the third party websites, check hotels websites as well.
(and remember now most will include parking at a discounted rate)

In addition, with parking rates hovering around the $50/day range, hotel web site packages that include free/discounted parking become a greater value.

Dave, I know you frequently recommend Travelzoo. This web site provides a discount code that you use on the hotel’s web site when you book. This saved us a lot of money recently. We stayed at a Hampton Inn in Manhattan for only $99 per night. It was in a great neighborhood (Soho), was fairly new, and included a free breakfast. Thank you for the tip!
You%26#39;re welcome.
Travelzoo%26#39;s codes are great, because it can be difficult to find all the special offers, even on a hotel%26#39;s own website.
Remember, also, that when people here recommend priceline, they%26#39;re not recommending the side where you know what you%26#39;re getting. They%26#39;re recommending bidding blind. The price then is not an apples-to-apples comparison with the hotel website, but if you%26#39;re comfortable with a small amount of up-front unknown, you can still save a bunch of money using the service, which is the bottom line for a lot of people.
