Plan our trip!

We are in Indiana, only a few hours away and on spring break this week. We are planning an overnight trip to Chicago sometime next week...probably around Thursday as it looks to be the nicest/warmest day so far. We have two children who are 3 and 7 and would like to do something that they would enjoy. We were thinking of the science and industry museum but not sure if it is age appropriate.

We would also like to walk around the city a little (especially the magnificent mile, chinatown, etc...) but not sure this is a good idea this time of year. The temp on Thurs. is showing to be 55 right now so I guess we%26#39;ll see.

So here is a challenge...if you had two days to plan things to do for a family of 4 with two children, what would your trip look like?

The MSI has kid friendly exhibits - www.msichicago.org/whats-here/exhibits/

Why don%26#39;t you stop there on your way downtown or on the way back home?

Check www.explorechicago.org for ideas. Also check the Visiting Chicago section on this web site. Also do a search on this forum for ideas. The topic%26#39;s been covered previously.

Some ideas to get you started:

Hey KMarie,

Be sure and try Lincoln Park Zoo as Dave says, and go to Grunts for lunch, right across the street. Go to Milennium Park, see the fountain and the Bean (Cloudgate). If weather is good rent a 4x4 bicycle at Navy Pier and bike the lakefront all in one bike. Navy Pier amusement park is good, as well as a hamburger at McD%26#39;s and even a boat ride if the weather is good.

My 2nd grade students LOVE MSI! There is plenty to see there for little ones.

I also think the zoo is a great choice, and it is free.
