Any suggestion for mother/daughter weekend

Going with my daughter 29 to attend conference 24-26 April in Rosemont. Need suggestions on lodging, dining, relaxing and fun ideas. We love wine and fine dining.

Unless there%26#39;s a show at the Allstate Arena or Rosemont Theater, there%26#39;s not much to do in Rosemont from an entertainment standpoint.

You can take the CTA blue line train from Rosemont to downtown Chicago. It%26#39;s about 45 minutes. www.transitchicago.com for details.

In the immediate Rosemont area there are plenty of dinning with more popping up everyday. However, most tend to be toward the higher end: Morton%26#39;s, Gibsons, Capital Grill, and Macromick and Schmidts. There are some Chicago favorites for pizza such as Giordannos and Gino%26#39;s East near buy.

A good relaxing ideas would be checking the Muvico theater out. It is within walking distance of the convention center and offers ';Premium'; service.

Another option might be a spa day at one of the several high end hotels near by.

Besides going downtown, you could also catch a taxi or bus to Woodfield mall for some shopping. It is one of the largest malls in the country.

There are lots of dinning options just a short cab ride away in Park Ridge and Edison Park. Both have some local bars and resturants.

If you love wine, and have a car, take Milwaukee Ave up to Lake-Cook. At the Westin there, there is a Microwinery called Cooper Hawk (Think Microbrewery, but for wine).

Thanks everyone. We are so excited about our trip. Does anyone know what the weather is usually the end of April or should we prepare for both cold and hot?

It won%26#39;t be cold here. Google Chicago Weather before you pack.

Seeing that you%26#39;re from GA, what us Chicagoans consider ';cold'; and what you consider ';cold'; might be 2 very different things! The end of April could be in the 40%26#39;s to in the 70%26#39;s! It definitely won%26#39;t be HOT (and the humidity is still lower).

Here is a link for the National Weather Service in Chicago. They are pretty accurate.
