totally fine to take kids to games :-)

Cubbies are a hard ticket to get - especially if you are trying to get tickets during school holidays, and weekend games. But keep trying. Also you could try the morning of a game, you never know, sometimes they will release tickets on game day.

I%26#39;m biased, but if you can get tickets to the Cubs, do it! It%26#39;s a classic old ballpark, in a lively neighborhood.

But hey, if not, try the Sox. It%26#39;s always worth taking in a ball game.

From downtown, a CTA red line train will get you to either park. Southbound (towards 95th) get off at 35th/Sox Park. Northbound (towards Howard) get off at Addison. www.transitchicago.com for public transit information. A CTA visitor pass might come in handy for your visit. As previously noted, the Cubs release tickets at the box office on the day of game.

I don%26#39;t know how old your kids are, but Sox Park is great for kids - there is a whole area out in left field where kids can bat, run, field, pitch, etc. No alcohol allowed in that area. Also some of the food is geared towards kids. Outside the park there is a statue commemorating the World Series championship, and other statues inside the park as well. Get lower deck seats if possible (100 level); upper deck seats will get you access to the kids area in left field but not to the rest of the park.

Hi, thanks for the info so far.Im a bit concerned about safety( its my first time to the usa)a friend of mine had a scary experience last year in Chicago. Are the grounds in any not so nice areas and do you have to travel through any dodgy neighbourhoods as i have an 8 year old in tow....once again thanks.

The distance between the train station and Sox Park is a short walk. There will be many people. You%26#39;ll be fine. After the game, you%26#39;ll walk back to the train with the crowds. The neighborhood near Sox park isn%26#39;t the greatest. But you won%26#39;t be going there.

The neighborhood around Wrigley Field (Wrigleyville)is safer. The train stop is across the street from the park. Before and after the game it%26#39;s perfectly safe to hang around.

Both parks are perfectly safe on game day. There will be thousands of people around, including police, so you won%26#39;t have anything to worry about. Most people prefer Cubs park, but it%26#39;s a small stadium and tickets go quickly. But Sox park is alot of fun and you and your children will have a great day. Which ever park you end up at, just follow the crowds off the red line.

Usually only one of the teams is in town at a time. That isn%26#39;t a hard fast rule but its the norm.

If there aren%26#39;t any tickets available on the cubs website for the game your looking at you will still definitely be able to go. There are always people selling tickets on the street around the stadium, make sure you get tickets for the right game, I%26#39;ve never had any trouble though. If you don%26#39;t feel comfortable buying from someone off of the street there are about a half dozen ticket brokers on Addison right by the train stop. These guys always have tickets. They will be for the game.

Either place is fun, if you go to the cubs and are with a family I don%26#39;t think I%26#39;d sit in the bleachers. Its a great time but its about drinking and the crowd can be pretty rowdy.

Enjoy your trip, Chicago is a awesome city. Hope this helps!
