So I ';won'; my bid price of $80/night on priceline and am staying at the Doubletree Chicago Mag Mile Friday-Monday in a couple of weeks with my fiance. Looks like the area people were suggesting and about 3/4 of a mile from the train stop. Would this be the Gold Coast area?
I would love suggestions on food or evening spots around this area. We are not picky at all and up for anything good, interesting, fun, neat to see, etc. Doesn%26#39;t have to be touristy; we are totally up for neighborhood or local things to eat/see/do.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Good score on Priceline. The Gold coast area is a bit further north from your your hotel.

Food/Fun suggestions around Doubletree Chicago Mag Mile
Yeah, I realize there are online dining %26amp; entertainment guides and I will look those over, but I am looking for non-paid recommendations here.
There is actually a thread below mine I just noticed that has lots of the kinds of recommendations %26amp; information from tripadvisor people that I am in search of. Yeahhh!! I bookmarked it so I can see keep up to date with added responses, so that should help.
Chicago has hundreds of restaurants with price ranging from a few dollars to several hundred dollars. Perhaps if you narrow it down a bit, pricewise and type of cuisine, people can make some suggestions.
I find chicagoreader.com and Time Out Chicago to be more reliable for restaurant reviews than yelp which is user based (but also accused recently of bumping up good reviews and deleting bad reviews when restaurants coughed up a bit of money). But if you want a lot of opinions which you can search by neighborhood, then give yelp a look.
There are quite a few decent spots over there...
Dao Thai
Emilio%26#39;s Tapas
Kamehachi (sushi)
Coco Pazzo Cafe
There%26#39;s a Capital Grille near there. The Gnocchi at Volare is really good in my opinion! There%26#39;s quite a bit of stuff within walking distance at a huge variety of price ranges. Fox %26amp; Obel is a specialty grocery store that has a cafe w/ pretty good sandwiches as well as breakfast. Les Nomades is a pricey, French restaurant that seems to be pretty well known in Chicago, I%26#39;ve never been, but it%26#39;s near where you%26#39;ll be.
D4 is a fun spot near your hotel.
