Hancock or Sears?

My next question: If you could only pick one, which would you visit; Sears Tower or John Hancock Center?

Any advice on tickets for either? Should I purchase in advance? We plan on doing one of them on a Friday afternoon.

BEtter views at Hancock. Don%26#39;t buy in advance because if it%26#39;s a cloudy or bad weather day, you will want to skip it because there wont%26#39; be visibility. The observation deck is great and recently remodeled but if you want to skip that, there is a bar on the 96th floor of the John Hancock where you can sit in there and see the views and have a drink. Observation deck is better though if you have children involved.

When is a better time to go (i.e.) in the day or in the evening?

IMO, daytime is better. But it%26#39;s a personal preference. Let the weather be your guide. Also, Hancock observatory was recently refurbished.

Go a bit before sunset, that way you will see both. Or, go one day at the observatory and then one night run up to the lounge for a drink and see all the amazing lights at night.
