I%26#39;ll be attending a conference at the Hilton Chicago June 27-30. I%26#39;ve stayed there before on a Priceline bid, and it was fine at a bargain price, but I remember the hotel being huge and impersonal, and the room having a couple of glitches (AC temp control not working properly, etc.) The conference rate is $222/night, and requires a one-night deposit. The best unrestricted rate I can get from the Hilton website for my dates is $249/night.
After a little research, I decided to book instead at the Blackstone Hotel, for an unrestricted rate of $199/night. It looks very promising from the TA reviews.
My question is: Are there other good business-class hotels in that immediate vicinity that I should look into, or do you think the Blackstone is my best bet? I don%26#39;t want to stay anywhere too far from the conference hotel as I anticipate a fair amount of shuttling back and forth between the conference sessions and my room. Thanks!

The Blackstone is your best bet - beautifully rehabbed, and just a block away. Anything else in that class would be at least a half-mile (Hotel Blake) or more walk.

Thanks for the confirmation, pgo - I will stick with the Blackstone!
Blackstone is your best bet and they have a great restaurant called the Mercat--a bustling, high ceilinged, swanky place that specializes in the foods of the Barcelona region in spain. Muy muy nice!
Thanks HTC. I%26#39;m really looking forward to trying Mercat - I love tapas and Catalan food!
