Hotels with river views

What are the best hotels with river views?

Hotels with river views

I love the views from the Westin River North - only one I can personally recommend.

Hotels with river views

Here is a list dvdmovie1 put together 4 years ago:

This is ***NOT*** a complete or 100% accurate list, but after staying in the Westin River North yesterday and getting a river view room, I thought it would be good to offer a list of hotels in downtown with at least a partial river or lake view. Any additions or corrections people have to offer are welcome:

You can see the river view room I got at the Westin ($69 priceline win + $40 upgrade after calling the hotel requesting a river view room - got a big room on the 17th floor) here:

1. Westin River North

River View: There are 4 rooms on each floor that flat-out face the river. The two rooms in the middle of the four appear to be slightly bigger than the ones on the sides. The ones in the middle offer a big view of either East or West, and a nice, although not full view of the opposite direction. These middle rooms go out a bit, and you are literally over the water, which i both stunning and a little wild (I got a little spooked when I tried to steady myself by putting my hand on the window) The Lake can be seen through these rooms, at least on the upper level, through some buildings. Some rooms towards the river side of the hotel that are on the sides of the building *may* have a partial river view. Rooms on the other side of the hotel don%26#39;t have much of a view, so try for rooms on the river side. Rooms flat-out facing the river appear to all end in 24,25,26,27 (for example: 1625)

2. Hotel 71

River View: There are rooms facing the river that offer an excellent view of the water. However, there are also rooms on the other side, and I can%26#39;t imagine a lot of them look out on much.

3. Residence Inn Marriott Downtown: Some rooms on the top 2 or 3 floors have a very nice, but partially obstructed view of the lake.

4. Renaissance: There are rooms facing out on the river, but there are also rooms facing State St. From what I could see from my room at the Westin, the hotel%26#39;s view West on the river was partially obstructed by a building that comes further out, but it looked to have good views East on the river.

5. Swissotel: On the river and right by the Lake, this hotel is a good bet for those looking for great views of the water. Some rooms reportedly have a Grant Park view, but many look out on the Water.

6. Hyatt: Some of this hotel%26#39;s over 2,000 rooms look out on the river.

7. Sheraton: Across from the Hyatt on the river, Some of the Sheraton%26#39;s rooms are flat out facing the river, but others on the sides also look out on the water. Although not all rooms have river views, the hotel%26#39;s location and its surroundings suggest there%26#39;s a pretty good chance you%26#39;ll get some view.

8. Doubletree Guest Suites: Some rooms on the top floor reportedly offer a lake view. Frommers notes that the fitness center on the 30th floor offers a good view of the fireworks at Navy Pier.

9. Holiday Inn Merchandise Mart: Some rooms in this hotel on the West Side of the loop look out over the river.

10. Hotel Monaco: Some rooms in this hotel offer very good river views, but others look out more on Walbash and others apparently don%26#39;t have much of a view at all. Frommers recommends rooms on the top 3 floors for good views.

11. W Chicago Lakeshore: Right on the lakefront, this hotel offers good views of Lake Michigan from some rooms, while others have city views. Reviews are definitely mixed, however. Although I%26#39;ve never used the service (so go at your own risk) easyclicktravel.com seems to always have the lowest prices on this location.

12. Hotel Sax - Some rooms on the upper half appear to have a pretty good/very good river view.

13. Hard Rock Hotel - Some rooms on the upper half on the side and back *appear* to have partial/moderate river views.

Since then, the Trump International has opened and has some of the best river views in the city.

Thank you so much. Good info but I could not access your movie.

Oh...all I did was cut and paste his post from 2005, so I cannot comment on the broken link.

You may also want to check the new Wit Hotel (doubletree). It%26#39;s near the Rennaisance across the river from Westin River North.
