Hello - is it easy to get from the Loop to the Gold Coast, tour the zoo for the afternoon, get back to Hancock Tower for sunset and then to Adobo grill for dinner, or are we just complicating things here? As far as I am aware, trains do not go to the zoo, but buses do. I have a feeling Chicago is going to be a lot bigger than I think it is. :-) Thanks

If you have nice weather and like walking, I%26#39;d recommend taking the bus to the zoo. When you%26#39;re finished there it%26#39;s about 2 miles from the zoo to the Hancock Tower. You can walk south through the park for about a mile, then walk down Astor Street, which is a gorgeous neighborhood to walk through. If you%26#39;d prefer not to walk that far, it%26#39;s easy to get a bus back to Michigan Ave.
From Hancock Tower to Adobo Grill in Old Town is just over a mile, so also walkable if you like walking. If you walk over to Wells and then north you can walk through several blocks of Old Town before reaching the restaurant.
Cabs would be another option.

It almost sounds as if you think the zoo is in the gold coast, but it%26#39;s in lincolm park. (Lincoln Park Zoo). Yes, it%26#39;s very easy to get to all your places by walking, taking the bus, or taking a cab. They are relatively short distances so even a cab is inexpensive and will get you to the front door of everywhere you want to be.
It would be more efficient to just go to Adobo Grill from the south end of the zoo. It%26#39;s a short walk. Save the Hancock for another evening (a clear one!) Take the bus to the very north end of the zoo (the Conservatory) and walk south to see it all.
