Cab fare from Midway and/or O'hare to Mag mile (Affinia)????

My wife and I will be visiting for three nights/four days and trying to figure out:

1. Which airport to fly in to

2. Should we rent a car

3. If we don%26#39;t rent a car, how much cab fare is from Midway and/or O%26#39;Hare to the Affinia Hotel on the Mag Mile (the hotel offers a limo service for $72 each way).

Thanks in advance!

Both airports are just about an equal distance from the mag mile so just fly into which airline offers you the best deal. The cab fare will run you about $30 from Midway, $40 from O%26#39;hare. Or, both airports have a public train that you can take for the terminal to downtown for $2.25. Get off at Clark/Lake stop, and take a cab to Affinia--cab should run you less than $10.

If you choose MDW, take the CTA orange line to Roosevelt. Transfer to a northbound (towards Howard) red line train. Get off at Chicago. It%26#39;s a 3 block walk from there to the Affinia. Cash fare $2.25

A 3-day CTA visitor pass might come in handy for your visit. www.transitchicago.com for details.

I never recommend transferring to out of towners unless they are really familiar with urban transit systems. You could take the wrong train in the wrong direction and if you have bags, that could be a problem.

The transfer at Roosevelt is very easy. I also indicated that he should take a train going towards Howard.

It%26#39;s easy to you. Out of towners get confused unless they are from an urban transit area like NYC or London. Once I told an out of towner they could take the red line to the blue line and transfer to Ohare and they panicked at the thought. I just think one quick train ride and then a cab to their hotel door. Plus, I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s a great idea to have tourists scrambling around with luggage and looking around for street signs. That is exactly what muggers are looking for.

So then, can you please recommend a one train plus one cab route for us from O%26#39;Hare to the Seneca?

Blue line to Clark/Lake. Cab from there to the Seneca.

While I prefer the one train and taxi, amny of my guests have done the transfer from both airports, and have had no confusion, as 1, they are clearly told what to do 2) evrything is pretty well marked and we most people you ask on the train will be friendly

Chicago is a very friendly town and people will be happy to help you make the transfer, just ask.
