Downtown Chicago Hotels

We are planning on driving to Chicago for a weekend and would like some feedback on the two hotels we are deciding between: Embassy Suites Lake View and The Hilton Suites Magnificant Mile. We are a family of four with a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old. Any feedback is appreciated.

The Hilton on Michigan is my rec. if you don%26#39;t plan on driving anywhere, etc. and really plan on only doing kid stuff...and taking bus to Navy Pier, Zoo, etc.

Lakeview IS a nice area and a great neighborhood and way to actually see where Chicagoans live and such and parking may be cheaper there and I would pick this if you%26#39;d be okay driving to destinations and using valet at restaurants, etc...

So it all depends I think on how familiar you are with getting around Chicago!

You mean the Embassy Suites Lakeside - not

Lakeview, which is a neighborhood north of downtown. It%26#39;s very convenient to Navy Pier, and the free breakfast is awfully nice with little kids. The Hilton Suites is in a little better location for Michigan Avenue shopping and buses, and it was recently renovated. Pick what%26#39;s most important to you.

Yes- I did mean lakeside. My mind thought one thing and my fingers typed another. :)

Not to be technical, but it%26#39;s officially:
