Hello,
Was thinking about going to see the Firworks July 3rd. About what time do they start and I%26#39;m guessing you should get there early?
Also where would be a nice restaurant to go to before? It will be 5 years for my bf and I that day. I was thinking a steakhouse, maybe Ruth%26#39;s Chris steakhouse? Never been there but it has excellent reviews.
Thanks!
July 3rd Navy Pier Fireworks and restaurant
I don%26#39;t think that it will be possible to arrive early enough on July 3 for the fireworks. July 3 is on a Friday this year, and I imagine that a lot of people are going to have that day off.
I haven%26#39;t been to Ruth%26#39;s Chris for a few years. I remember that the food and service were excellent, but you do pay for it. Everything is ala carte.
July 3rd Navy Pier Fireworks and restaurant
The fireworks don%26#39;t begin until around 9:30.
You can read reviews and do dining searches by location, cuisine, budget etc at www.chicagoreader.com
FYI, you can see the fireworks very well from Navy Pier, but they are actually shot off from the lake off of Monroe Harbor. As previously stated, you cannot arrive early enough, as Taste of Chicago is going on as well.
You could do both Ruth%26#39;s Chris and the fireworks. Don%26#39;t plan on getting all the way down to Grant Park; either head over to Navy Pier by cab, or walk along the river to the neighborhood east of Michigan Avenue to get a partial view.
For an anniversary, go to Cite at Lake Point Tower and watch the fireworks from there. 70 stories up, with panoramic views from all sides. It won%26#39;t be that much more than Ruth Chris but way better experience. Entrees at Cite are like $25 to $38.
Ok, thanks for everyone%26#39;s advice. I was thinking it%26#39;s gonna be packed because of the taste. I will take a look at Cite too.
Thanks!
