HI! I%26#39;m looking to make reservations for 2 for dinner before Jersey Boys on May 22. Would love to figure out which theatre district restaurant is a ';MUST'; that locals enjoy as well. Can spend $150-$175 (or less or course!) total... no Asian cuisine. What is the one restaurant we must visit?! Thanks!
pre-theatre dinnerI don%26#39;t think there is such a thing as a MUST visit restaurant in Chicago, there are so many good choices here. We enjoyed a meal at the Rosebud Theater District (Italian) before seeing Jersey Boys, other people recommend Italian Village which is one of the oldest restaurants in Chicago, Russian Tea Time is another option, I also like Atwood Cafe (upscale American) which isn%26#39;t too far. Rosebud also has a steakhouse near the theate, I%26#39;ve never eaten there.
pre-theatre dinnerI agree with the other poster, that there%26#39;s not really a ';must';. The Grillroom (right across the street from the Theater) is good. There%26#39;s also Rhapsody a few blocks away at Wabash %26amp; Adams.
If you%26#39;re willing to walk 10 minutes, there%26#39;s a lot of other good places where Dearborn meets the Chicago river too.
You can read reviews and do dining searches by location, cuisine etc at www.chicagoreader.com
I work near the theater and by far my favorite after-work place for a nice, romantic and deliviouc dinner is Atwood Cafe. The oven roasted squash is incredible.
