hi there,
heading to chicago with my boyfriend in may for 3 nights and 4 days. hope to do a day or 2 shopping.
staying in comfort inn downtown.
is it worth going to the woodfield mall?
any suggestions please .
also any nice seafood restaurants ?
woodfield mall
Honestly, there isn%26#39;t anything you could shop for at at Woodfield you can%26#39;t find downtown. The only reason I could think of going would be to experience what a suburban shopping mall is like. Unless you have a car (and some extent even if you do), getting to Woodfield is going to be time-consuming.
woodfield mall
Agree - not worth the time to go to Woodfield unless there is something else you want to do in the area. If you are here during the summer, you might want to go to Arlington Race Track and maybe catch Woodfield Mall on the same day.
Once I went to Woodfield and it was so big and sprawling, it was overwhelming. And crowded. I hated it. I never went back.

I love Woodfield, I go there all the time, but I would not make a special trip unless you are really into it. It is about the nicest big suburban mall in the area.
If you are looking for a nice seafood resturant, Bob Chin%26#39;s is probably the most popular in Chicagoland. It is in Wheeling and not easily accessible by public Transport. If you are getting a car to go to Woodfield, it might be worth the detour on your way back to the city.
If you are going to a mall, I would recommend Oakbrook over Woodfield/Yorktown. Essentially the same stuff, but sales tax is about 2.5% less in Dupage county. There are several unique resturants around Yorktown.

I also like Oak Brook much better than Woodfield, especially if the weather is nice.
Downtown seafood restaurant recommendation: I like Roy%26#39;s on State Street (@ Superior) and, also, Devon at Chicago %26amp; Wabash.

If you are looking for a large shopping mall experience, then Woodfield really can%26#39;t be beat. For many years, Woodfield Mall was the largest enclosed shopping center in the country.
While it is possible to take public transit to Woodfield, it is difficult and time consuming. If you really want to go, check into renting a car.
There is another mall across from Woodfield, that has a Nordstrom Rack, Off Fifth (Saks outlet) and other discount stores. There is also a DSW near Woodfield. Oakbrook has the the Rack, DSW, and also a Loehmanns nearby. Happy Shopping
A few blocks east of the Comfort Inn on Michigan Avenue, you%26#39;ll find Marshall%26#39;s, H%26amp;M and Filene%26#39;s Basement in addition to the upper-end stores like Chanel, Polo, Neiman Marcus and Cartier.
A few blocks south on State Street, you%26#39;ll find Lohemann%26#39;s, Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Filene%26#39;s Basement, Nordstrom Rack and H%26amp;M in addition to Macy%26#39;s on State, New York and Forever 21.
Between the two shopping districts, you have 98 percent of the stores you%26#39;ll find in and around Woodfield, so instead of spending about two-hours traveling to and from Schaumburg, you can spend more time sightseeing or shopping.
