Is there a festival or another reason that we can%26#39;t find any lodging for that weekend.

We wanted to spend a romantic weekend in Galena.

It%26#39;s also typically very difficult to find one nights lodging over the weekend in Galena. Especially during fall colors.

Galena is the 2nd most visited tourist destination in Illinois and October is the busiest month. Most lodging, Hotels, B%26amp;B%26#39;s etc will require a 2 night stay on the weekend thruout the year, but especially in October. It is best to make your reservations early and to be very honest, there is way too much to see and do for only a 1 night stay.

If your thinking about October for 2009, you should make your reservation early. Most places do not require a deposit.

See above post, or alternately, Dubuque, IA is only a 20 minute drive and is not likely to be sold out. Or drive south on IL-89 toward Savanah and you will find something. They won%26#39;t be the classiest, but there are a number of mom and pop motels along the river.
