Is it too early to get great flight rates for late August?

I%26#39;m looking to fly from Orange County, CA or Los Angeles (prefer O.C.) to Chicago in late August.

Most deals seem to have a ';travel by'; date earlier than my late August travel dates.

I%26#39;ll be staying at the Affinia. Does it matter which airport I fly in to?

O%26#39;hare (ORD) or Midway (MDW) are about equal distance to downtown. CTA trains serve both airports. It%26#39;s ';slightly'; easier from Midway. Two trains and a short walk to your hotel. www.transitchicago.com for public transit details.

IMO - it%26#39;s too early to book a flight for late August. Southwest flies to MDW from SNA.
