Sceneca Hotel

Hi, I%26#39;m thinking of staying at the Sceneca Hotel at 200 East Chestnut because it is very close to the beach and Water Tower Place. Anyone have any comments on the property, on Tripadvisor the ratings are pretty good, however some people complain it%26#39;s kinda old in some rooms.

Just looking for any comments.

Thanks

Sceneca Hotel

Seneca is old and the rooms are not great but just ok. The location is good if you want to be in the city. However, do not forget it will cost you a lot of money to park your car if you have a car.

The Seneca folks also own the Belden Stratford. The Belden also has full kitchens and is across from the Lincoln Park Zoo and just a looks out over the lake just a short distance to lakefront and beaches. It is easier to street park at the Belden as long as you find a spot on Lincoln Park West or Stockton you do not need a sticker and it is free.

I stayed at the Seneca a couple of years ago and thought it was a great hotel. The rooms are different than your typical hotel generic hotel room. It was nice to have the small kitchenette set up for my leftovers from all the fantastic Chicago food! Great for midnight snacking. :)

Older building, yes, but everything in my room was very nice. The room was quite large Staff was friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was perfect; steps to everything, but just far enough off the main drag. Like I said, this was a few years ago. Unless it has had a decline since, I would absolutely stay there again, and recommend it.
