Seafood restaurants in Chicago

Any opinions on which seafood restaurant is better, Shaw%26#39;s Crab House or Devon Seafood Grille? Looking for quality food, good service, not necessarily the least expensive.

Shaw%26#39;s. Another option - http://www.catch35.com/

Seafood restaurants in Chicago

Did not care for Shaw%26#39;s at all. It%26#39;s a part of Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants - a huge corporate franchise. They are way over priced and have very small portions. They rush you through your dinner so they can turn the tables over quickly. I haven%26#39;t cared for ANY of the Lettuce restaurants in the area.

Sorry, I can%26#39;t help with other recommendations because my favorites are way out here in the %26#39;burbs.

It%26#39;s been a while but we liked Catch 35 (35 Wacker). We love Hugo%26#39;s Frog Bar, and I%26#39;ve heard good things about Joe%26#39;s Seafood...but haven%26#39;t been there.

I had a great experience at Shaws the one time I was there. Really nice food, decent service, excellent cocktails, and we stayed for nearly 2 hours.

We have plans for Joe%26#39;s in 2 weeks and I have heard that it%26#39;s all-around a better seafood experience.

I am a fan of Devon. It%26#39;s great space and the food is quite good.

I love Shaw%26#39;s and Joe%26#39;s Stone Crab, Shaw%26#39;s has a nice dinner sampler for about $45 for soup, a couple of different kinds of crab, crab cakes, a couple of sides and dessert. And while both are VERY busy places, I have never felt rushed at either one and service has always been friendly and efficient.

I haven%26#39;t been to Catch 35 in years and have never been to Devon.

Wow - all you Shaws lovers. The location in the city much be much better than the Schaumburg location. I have heard similar complaints to mine from friends and family. I don%26#39;t know anybody who likes the Shaws near us.

Bob Chins is very popular, as is Dover Straits and Port Edwards in Algonquin.

I have been to Devon Seafood Grill twice. One in Philly. I live in NJ and brought out of town guests to the Philly location. They also loved it. Both times I went to the Devon Seafood Grill the food, service and ambiance were excellent. I highly recommend it. I can%26#39;t speak for any of the other places listed.

I do like Shaws. It has a great menu, good sushi at the oyster bar, and great martinis. As another noted, Joe%26#39;s is also another poular option and they do a great steak if you have any land-lovers. If you are seeking raw oysters, one caveat that Joe%26#39;s does not have them.

On a side note, I wouldn%26#39;t judge a restaurant in the city based on it%26#39;s suburban alter-ego.

Ok, I like the Blue Crab Lounge at Shaw%26#39;s over the Dining Room. I do like Devon, the room is nice and everyone I send there seems to love it, I think they may still have their lobster specials. I think Catch 35 is ok. Nick%26#39;s Fishmarket can be expensive and I think the Chicago location of Joe%26#39;s is over rated.(IMHO)
